I just had my 12 week checkup after the collarbone repair surgery and the doctor has given me a clean bill of health! Yeah!
I got to see the X-rays of the repair for the first time today. There is about a 5-6 inch long plate on top of the collarbone and about 8 screws holding it together. There was a total of 4 pieces to put together. My doctor (Dr Smith) is an amazing surgeon. This is the 3rd time he has put me together. The first time was two broken bones in my left foot from crashing on a waterski. The second time was to reattach a finger, put a plate in my left arm (broken in multiple places), and a broken scapula from a motorcycle road racing crash, and the third was the broken collarbone from the dirt bike crash. There seems to be a trend here!
Now at least I am in a safe sport, wink, wink!! At least I have a roll cage around me now. I should be fine now!
My drag racing dream in the “Blue Banana” will start back up in July. It has been nearly a year since I drove the “Blue Banana”. First, the floods messed up our season then my stupid mistake on the dirt bike messed up this year. I have sold all of the motorcycles except for my classics and that won’t happen again.
We are headed this weekend to get the new tow truck and if everything goes right, we will be racing in late July. I can’t wait to get back in the car. Now I need to get some seat time and prepare for the debut of the “Black Hole” early next year.
